San Jose is on the way?

So its the night before we leave, and I can’t sleep.  One o’clock, two o’clock, three-thirty.  Probably anxiety.  Did I remember everything we need for the next 18-24 months?  Finally I got up about 5:30.  Alarm was set to go off at 6:30 anyway.   We collect our 6 plus car seat bags and load the car.  We are flying to San Jose for a wedding “on our way” to Europe to attend a family wedding.  When my husband brought this up, I told him I was sure that San Jose was not “on the way” to London, but if you know my husband, once he had an idea in his head…

So here we are.  We arrived around lunch time Friday and found our hotel.  Since Ella is sleeping in the car, we decide to find drive thru lunch.  At an intersection near the hotel, we have two choices:  left lane, In-And-Out; right, Tofu Palace.   You got to love California.  Somehow the car just steers its way to In-And-Out.  I don’t feel too badly.  In-And-Out burgers were my guilty pleasure when I spent some time working on the West coast a few years ago, and we could both justify getting a last taste of Americana before our Sunday departure to Europe.

Must have been that almost-but-not-quite Hot ‘n Now aroma steering the car. Speaking of Hot’n Now, you should ask him the best way to handle an electrical fire in a car, if you haven’t heard that story.

If you could bring back about 30 frozen In’N’Out burgers, that would be awesom!!! Can’t wait to see you over here!

It was a busy weekend for sure for the 3 of you, but sounds like things are going well. Hope you are resting, and settling in by now. Love, Mom and Dad, with special hugs to Ella!
